Currently working on a colorful painting (80-120 cm ) inspired by the former iconic Hotel Hamdorff in Laren, The Netherlands. A unique place where people danced and celebrated, where artists and thinkers met. Where figures such as Henry Singer and where painters like Piet Mondriaan and Jozef Israëls came together. A location with a rich and vibrant cultural history. With this new work, I like to bring a sense of that past moment back to life. While developing the painting, I explored archival material and even spoke to a great grand child of Jan Hamdorff. This deepend my appreciation for the richness of this place. But also raised the question, how could such a remarkable place disappear. This is exactly why I am painting "The Guest"...

From April 21 to 26, new work will be on view at the Singer Museum Laren as part of Anna Singer Art Spring '26. Invited once again by the Anna Singer Art Selection Committee, two new works will be presented: "End of a Summerday" and "Let the Day Wait". Very pleased to be showing here again and hope to see you during the exhibition. More info about my work in the exhibition.

This new painting "Let The Day Wait" likes to slow things down. It celebrates our breakfast, early morning light and the smell of fresh bread and coffee. A colorful reminder that the day doesn't have to start in a rush. Sometimes it's enough to let the day wait. Size, 80-100 cm.

I’m excited to share that two of my paintings have been selected for the Anna Singer Art 2025 exhibition at the Singer Museum in Laren! From 18–23 November, the museum will showcase a vibrant mix of around twenty contemporary artists — from paintings and sculptures to photography and mixed media. All works were carefully chosen by the Anna Singer Art Committee for their artistic vision, originality, and distinctive quality. It’s an honour to be part of this inspiring group of artists and to show my work in such a special place. The exhibition is open to all museum visitors, while the purchase or loan of artworks is exclusively available to Friends, Young Singers, Fellows and Fellow Founders of Singer Laren.
Singer Museum opening hours:
Tue–Sat: 10:00–17:00
Sun: 10:00–16:00

At first glance "Amsterdam Ceiling Fan" (60 x 60 cm) shows a familiar Amsterdam scene, canal houses and bridges. But quietly floating above it all, a ceiling fan.I made this work to reflect on the growing tension between urban life and environmental change. “Amsterdam Ceiling Fan” refers to the so called Urban Heat Island effect. Cities like Amsterdam trapping heat and amplifying temperatures. A phenomenon that will only increase with climate change. The bright colours and restless waves in the canal symbolise that something is shifting. The scene may seem playful at first, but there’s an underlying urgency. Well, even the most familiar places are changing. Weather we notice it or not.
